Fu Fu Cat Crying on Security Camera Goes Viral in China
The two-year-old British Shorthair, Fu Fu, allegedly wept while hearing his owner calling his name through the home monitor. The pet keeper, Ms Meng, said she was checking on the feline using a surveillance app on her phone when she saw the ‘heart-breaking’ scene.
The CCTV clip was filmed on the night of February 8 in eastern China after Ms Meng had gone to her parents’ home in a nearby town to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The 17-second video, which has received more than 8million ‘likes’, propelled Fu Fu into social media stardom, leading him to be known as the ‘left-behind cat’.
Ms Meng described Fu Fu as shy and clingy, adding that the pet loves spending time with her.
To ensure Fu Fu’s well-being, Ms Meng had arranged enough food and water for him before her trip and would watch surveillance footage regularly. She didn’t bring the cat with her because she was afraid Fu Fu wouldn’t get used to her parents house.
