Chris Cordero alleges that Officer Colt Black sucker-punched him in the head and pressed false charges against him including resisting arrest, assault on a law enforcement officer and making a death threat to a law enforcement officer.

Officer Black in his report says that Cordero immediately charged him after exiting his vehicle. But the security camera footage proves otherwise and exposes this officers shameless lie.

“I stopped at a stop sign on Third Street and I noticed the officer behind me, way before I even stopped. I get out of the vehicle to ask him what’s going on because he’s been following me for a while. He sucker-punched me from the back, right here, cracked a piece of my tooth out. I landed on the ground.”

Black was later joined by another officer, Travis Worley, who also became violent to Cordero.

“They both jumped on me and beat me up really bad.”

Cordero alleges that Worley made racist comments.

Cordero was arrested on numerous charges and was facing years in prison. As soon as he got released the next day on bail, he went around the neighborhood to look for a house that had footage of the incident. After Cordero gave the footage to Lake Wales Police, the charges against him were dropped as the footage very clearly contradicted Black’s police report.

In response to being caught in a blatant lie, Officer Black filed another report saying that his “perception” was “altered” due to the intensity of the situation. Black has since resigned, while Officer Worley has been placed on administrative station duty pending investigation.

This reminds me so much of Christian Hall who’s police reports alleges that he was yielding a weapon when he was shot and killed by police officers, but bystander footage reveals he had his hands in the air.
