White Georgia State Troopers Arrest Black Representative for Knocking on...
They arrested her faster than the insurrectionists were arrested. Look at how she is treated by police. This is straight out of Jim Crow.
Tonight Georgia’s legislature passed a bill brazenly intended to make it harder for Georgians to vote. Among its outrageous provisions: it criminalizes *giving water to voters who are waiting in line.* It’s no wonder Govenor Brian Kemp hid behind closed doors while he signed it.
Georgia state troopers arrested state Representative Park Cannon on Thursday as she knocked on Govenor Kemp’s door, interrupting his announcement that he had signed an elections bill into law. The Democrat from Atlanta was with several other protesters when she knocked on Kemp’s office door, saying the public should be allowed to witness the announcement of the bill signing.

According to a GSP spokesman, “She was advised that she was disturbing what was going on inside and if she did not stop, she would be placed under arrest.”
The Georgia Constitution says legislators are “free from arrest during sessions of the General Assembly” except for charges of treason, felonies or breach of the peace.
