A white guy drives away from police, dragging an officer and striking him with a hammer, but was NOT shot. It’s important to note, this event happened in the same state where Daunte Wright was fatally shot by a cop who mistook her taser for a gun. Police in Hutchinson, Minnesota were called to a home improvement store because Luke Alvin Oeltjenbruns refused to wear a mask. Luke hit an employee with a piece of wood before running away. The police found him in a nearby mall parking lot.

Luke rammed 2 police cars and began to flee the scene, with the cop still hanging out the driver’s side door. Hutchinson PD says Luke struck his head with a hammer before coming to a stop. He was arrested for first-degree assault and the officer is in stable condition.

The event reminds me of a December 2020 incident in Ohio when a white suspect threatened to shoot a police officer before speeding away.

Duante was shot by the now-former cop Kim Potter during a traffic stop over expired tags. Potter claims she intended to use her Taser, but accidentally fired her handgun. She’s since resigned, and was arrested for second-degree manslaughter. The incident has sparked daily protests in Minnesota.
