A viral video shows a supposed “concerned parent” believing he’s destroying the idea of critical race theory at an Illinois school board meeting. But, in reality, he’s Ty Smith, a conservative radio host, so-called “Modern Renaissance Man” on YouTube, and father of two nearly-adult sons who doesn’t understand what critical race theory is.

An individual experience has zero implication on the impact of racial prejudice in US history. Critical Race Theory doesn’t call white people evil monsters. It acknowledges that ever-present implicit racism that exists in many people.

Critical Race Theory isn’t even taught in K-12 schools. So his idea that we are teaching kids is also completely wrong.

And there’s a rumour circulating online that claims Smith is conservative commentator Candace Owens’ brother.
