Lake Lanier used to be a thriving, all-Black town in the northern part of Georgia. Legend has it the Army flooded the community and turned it into a lake. It is a commonly held belief that beneath the water lies the final resting spot of countess black residents. That’s why the place is cursed.

Legend has it the ghost of a long-dead woman roams this lake in a flowing blue dress. Mysterious arms reach out for swimmers from the watery depths. Angry spirits call people home to submerged graves.

More than 200 people have died in swimming and boating accidents on the lake since 1994.

Public Freakout when dock sits on Lake Lanier over July 4th long weekendBesides a boat sinking, over the July 4th weekend, another boat exploded and two people suffered burns. Another was badly injured in a tubing incident. And several other people were injured when two boats collided.

So it’s safe to say, if somebody invites me to Lake Lanier, I’m going to assume they’re trying to kill me. I think we should all just stay away.

Johnny Depp is getting support from what some might think is an unlikely group, but maybe not -- an org protecting women and children. The group, Mission NGO, is Italian-based, and fronted by former Miss Italy Valeria Altobelli. She expressed "compassion" for Johnny in the wake of his trial with ex-wife Amber Heard.
